Physicians Increase Use of Electronic Health Record Systems for Prescriptions
The last time you visited the doctor’s office, did your physician use an electronic health record (EHR) system to write you a prescription?
Approximately half of American doctors are using EHRs when writing prescriptions, according to a report from the Office of the National Coordinator for Health Information Technology. The federal government offeres a variety of incentives and educational programs to encourage physician offices to switch to an electronic system for keeping records and writing prescriptions.
